Completed Neckties

First try with birchstreet pattern. (alpha release)
For the first run of tie making, I used cotton. Everything was wrong with this tie. The tie is not symmetrical at all. The tip actually had two points. I chose not to use an interlining since it was suppose to be a seven fold tie. But even with an interfacing, it is very very thin.

modified birchstreet pattern (beta release)
The beta release is essentially the same as the alpha release but with a more visually pleasing pattern and done with more skill. I figured out how to sew the interfacing correctly so that the tip was symmetrical and came to only one point. Afterwards, the tie was open and resewn in the six fold style.
modified birchstreet pattern (v1.0)
After the success of the beta version, I decided to give it a try with silk. Like the beta version, it was also reopened and resewn in the six fold style. The tie is visually pleasing, but when handled next to a real seven fold tie, the difference in construction quality is very apparent. The thickness of the tie is just too thin in the neck without an interlining.
Ben Folds Seven pattern (v3.0)
Since a "true" seven fold tie is untipped and unlined, I needed to make my own pattern. After several revisions to get the shape and folds designed correctly, I made this one out of silk skipping any alpha or beta versions. The design was drafted, then compared to actual seven fold ties, and then reworked over and over.
